Why do I see the error, There was no salary structure available for employee error even though there is a salary structure added in the employees profile?

Modified on Tue, 6 Feb at 3:13 PM

A salary structure is the way an employee's pay is broken down into different components. Depending on factors like job type, experience level, or department, different employees in an organization may have different salary structures. For instance, interns and consultants may have different structures, with consultants only receiving consultation fees rather than basic pay, HRA, and PF.

While finalizing payroll, especially for new employees, you may sometimes see an error message, "There was no salary structure added for the employee" even though the salary structure is added in the employees profile.

As you can see in the above screenshot you receive an error message even though there is a salary structure added to the employee's profile.

This is usually because the salary effective date is after the date of Joining for the employee.

Once you change the salary effective date to match the date of joining or to the beginning of the present month's payroll cycle, the error will be fixed.

Hope now you know why you receive the error There was no salary structure available for employee and how to correct it. Need more help? You can refer to the other articles available or Contact us!
