Jobs roles are often divided into bands or grades in salary banding, often denoted by a letter or number, such as Band A, B, or C, or Grades 1, 2, or 3. Employees are assigned to a certain band based on their work responsibilities, skills, and experience, and each band has a minimum and maximum compensation range.
You can assign bands to employees individually or in bulk, let us now understand both the procedures in detail.
Assigning/Updating Pay Bands Individually
To assign bands to employees individually, Search for the employee name on the Global search(1).
In the employee profile click on Job and under Job Details you will find the Band and click on the Edit option.
Once you click on the edit option a pop-up will appear where you must select if it is a Correction of data or Pay Band change and then select the New Band using the drop-down available. Then add Note and click on Update.
Assigning/Updating Pay Bands in Bulk
To Assign pay bands in bulk click on Org(1) from the left navigation menu. In the Org Dashboard(2) on the Summary(3) find the Import Employee Job Details (4) hyperlink. Under summary, you will be able to find the Quicklinks and under Quicklinks where you will be able to find the bulk operations and click on the Import Employee Job Details(4)
On the page, click Download the Excel Template.
Then select All Employees in case you would like to download the template for all employees or Only Group in case you would like to download the template for selected employees. You can use the filters available to specify the employees can click Download.
In the template, search for Band, update it for the employees and save the template.
Then in Keka on the same page click Upload Excel File and upload the saved template.
Once the file is uploaded it will move to the next page. Here check the columns and click Continue.
On the last page if there are no errors you can click Complete.
