How to rectify "Salary structure is missing for "x" days in the current pay period" error?

Salary structure refers to the breakup of different salary components of the net pay that an employee gets. While running payroll, you might come across a situation where the system aborts payroll processing stating "Salary structure is missing for 'x' days in the current pay period" when you review the unprocessed salaries.

Let us take a look at how we can troubleshoot such a situation and run the payroll efficiently.

The basic step is to check the date of joining & the salary revision effective date, as this usually happens in the case of newly joined employees where the date of joining & the salary revision effective date is different.

Search for the employee's name on the Global search bar (1) and on their profile navigate to the Job (2) tab. From here, you can check the Date of Joining under Job Details.

Search for the employee's name on the Global search bar (1) and on their profile navigate to the Finances (2) tab. Click on the Pay (3) tab where you will be directed to the Salary (4) section. You can check the Salary Revision effective date.

In this example, you can see that the Date Of Joining is set as 1st April 2023 & the Salary Revision effective date is set as 15th April 2023. In this case, there is no information on the amount that will be paid from 1st April to 14th April.

There are 2 ways to rectify this,
1. Change the Date of Joining. To know more about how to edit the DOJ, click here.

2. Change the salary revision effective date. To know more about how to edit a revised salary, Click here.

Please do a Preview Run for payroll after making the changes for the system to show the required details.
