How can we mark leaves to be accrued only after "x" days of joining?

Modified on Tue, 27 Jun, 2023 at 8:52 AM

Companies often set a fixed number of leaves within an annual quota. The frequency of accruing these leaves, whether monthly, quarterly, or half-yearly, is determined by the HR policy of the company.

In certain situations, organizations may mandate that specific types of leaves are accrued after a certain number of days from the employee's joining date. To configure this, you can easily establish the desired number of days based on your leave policy.

Go to the Time Attend (1) section of the Keka Portal and click on Leave (2) under that, open the Leave Plans (3) tab.

Once you open the Leave Plans tab, select the Leave Plan (1)(If there are multiple) and find the Leave Type (2) for which you need to change the accrual settings.

Then click on the three dots (3) beside the name of the leave type, and select Settings (4).

The leave configuration window will open up, and in the Accrual & Accumulation (1) section, scroll a bit down and enable the option "Leave accrual varies based on employees’ probation period or tenure in organization?".

Once this option is enables, you will get the options to set the accrual based upon the date of joining, or probation end date.

Fill in the required number of days in the Accrual of leave starts ___ days 'After Joining Date' or 'Probation End Date' (1)

Then you can set up the criteria for leave accrual during probation or after probation and a certain number of days after joining (2).

Once the probation has been ended by the respective admin the system will automatically take up the annual quota and prorate based on the no of calendar days left.
