An exit task list is a vital checklist for departing employees, covering tasks like returning company property, transferring files, updating contact information, settling expenses, and completing paperwork. It ensures a smooth transition and closure when employees leave.
In Keka, you can assign task lists with due dates, reminder emails, and validators to streamline the exit process and ensure all tasks are fulfilled.

There are several ways in which tasks can be assigned to an employee who has resigned or been terminated.
Assigning tasks to the employee whose exit request is pending approval
Open the employee's profile and you will see a label stating the date on which the employee has resigned and that the request is pending approval. To be able to assign exit tasks to this employee, you first need to accept the resignation.
To do so, click on the Take Action button and the 'Take exit action' window will open.
Here select Yes, accept resignation. Once you do this, more options corresponding to the exit formalities will appear. At the bottom, you will find the option to Import New Task List.
When you click on it, a window will pop up in which you have to choose the Exit Task List Template you want to assign to this employee and just click on Add.
You can also add an individual task using the +Add Task option.
Assigning Tasks to the employees in the exit process
To see the list of employees who are in the exit process, go to the Org (1) section of your portal, click on Exits (2), and open the In Exit Process Tab (3).
Here find the employee to whom you want to assign tasks and click on the three dots under the Actions column and select Update Tasks (4).
The Update Tasks window will open up and here you can either add a new add task for this employee using the + Add New Task button.
Or you can use a Task list template by clicking on the Import New Task List button.
You will also get the option to assign tasks to an employee if your select Process & Settle under Actions.
This will open the Exit Process window, where you can configure all the exit formalities. To add or assign tasks proceed to the Pending Activities by clicking Save & Continue on the previous section.
Under Exit Pending Tasks you can either add a new add task for this employee using the + Add New option.
Or you can use a Task list template by clicking on the Import New Task List option.
Once done, click on Save & Continue, and then you can exit the window.
Now the tasks will reflect in the employee's inbox on the portal.
