How to set up an exit task list for employees in the exit process?

Modified on Wed, 17 May, 2023 at 4:09 PM

An exit task list is a vital checklist for departing employees, covering tasks like returning company property, transferring files, updating contact information, settling expenses, and completing paperwork. It ensures a smooth transition and closure when employees leave. In Keka, you can create task lists with due dates, reminder emails, and validators to streamline the exit process and ensure all tasks are fulfilled.

Creating an Exit Task List

To do so, open the Org section of your portal and navigate to Exits and then open the Tasks tab. To create an exit task list, click on +Add Task List.

The Add Task list window will appear where you have to give a Name for the task list. Also add a Description if required and click Add.

The list will appear in the Exit Task List pane on the left.

Adding Exit Tasks

To add tasks to this list click on Add task.

The Add Task to 'List' window will appear where you have to give the Task Name and a Description (if required).

Then provide the number of days before the last working day when the task is due. You also have the option to attach any relevant files.

Next, choose to whom the task is assigned to.

For example, if you select Employee, and assigned this task to an onboarding group, all the employees in that group will have to do this task.

You can also configure reminder emails to be sent out to the assignee

Click on Add to add this task to the list.

And now you can keep adding tasks to this list as per your requirement. Check out our article on how to assign a task list to an exiting employee.
