What are core values?

Core values are principles or beliefs that are central to how the organization works. Values are essential for organizations to set standards for employee and stakeholder behavior. Values act as behavioral guide rails, especially in difficult moments. Values are different from other aspects such as core competencies in such a way that the values are not easily measurable.

Values help organizations in many ways. It gives employees the power to make decisions and resolve conflicts in tough situations when there is difficulty in determining the right approach. The decision that aligns best with the organization's values will be trusted by the employees more and will help in building a sustainable culture in the organization.
