How to add grace period for Late arrival?

Modified on Fri, 17 Mar, 2023 at 5:09 PM

Organizations recognize that strict time policies can create an unwelcoming work environment, which can lead to reduced employee morale and productivity. To counter this, they provide a grace period for late arrivals. The grace period provides employees with flexibility and ensures that productivity is not hampered by strict policies. However, organizations should ensure that the grace period is reasonable and that employees are still held accountable for their responsibilities and workloads

To add a grace period to a tracking policy in Keka, go to the Time Attend (1) section, navigate to Attendance Tracking (2), open the Tracking Policy (3) tab, and select the relevant policy from the list. Go to the Versions (4) tab and click the update icon (5) for the 'Current' tracking policy.

In the Update Tracking Policy window that opens up, you will be in the Basic Information section where you have to give an effective date from which this version of the tracking policy will take effect. Now, click Save & Continue till you reach the Late Arrival section.

Under the Late Arrival section, select the option 'Employees are penalized if they exceed the allowed number of late coming incidents in a week/month.' This will provide you with the option to set the grace period or tolerance beyond which employees’ arrival is considered late. Once you have set the grace period, you can click on Save & Continue and exit this window.
