In order to provide more flexibility to employees, ensure fairness, comply with legal requirements, and promote performance improvement, an organization may need to change the deduction period settings for penalties. Fortunately, Keka makes it easy to update these settings, and this article will guide you through the process step by step.

To begin, navigate to the Time Attend (1) section of the Keka portal and select Attendance Tracking (2). From there, click on the Tracking Policy (3) tab, where you will see a list of all the tracking policies configured for your organization. Select the policy you wish to modify, and then click on the Update icon (5) in the Versions (4) tab.

This will bring up the Update Tracking Policy window, where you can modify the settings for the new version of the policy. In the Basic Information step, choose the effective date for the new settings, which will create a new version of the policy. Click on Save and Continue to proceed to the No Attendance section.

Under How are Leaves Deducted? you can configure the deduction period for penalties to take effect. Continue to the subsequent sections (Late Arrival, Work Hours, and Missing Swipes) and make the necessary changes to the settings under How are Leaves Deducted?

In the Missing Swipes section, select Yes for 'Do you want the system to deduct leave for days with missing swipes?' to see the 'How are leave deducted?' section.

Click on Save & Close after making the necessary changes. The new version of the policy will now be created and will take effect from the date you selected in the first step.
