Managing candidate profile scoring

Introduction

Let's talk about a very common scenario that recruiters like you may be way too familiar with. You post a job online in your preferred channels and then hundreds of candidate profiles fly in. In an ideal scenario, having more options is great for you, as there is a chance you'll find the best fit. It does complicate the process quite a lot. You need to shortlist and reach out to these candidates, and get them into the hiring process as soon as you can. 


Ever wondered if you had a way to get these profiles rated automatically so that you can reduce the time taken to shortlist these profiles? Your wish has been granted. Introducing candidate profile scores on Keka Hire. 


What is candidate profile score?


Candidate profiles scores calculates how well a candidate's profile fits with the requirements laid out in the job description. The following parameters are considered for a candidate profile score on Keka Hire. 


  1. Job Profile
  2. Skills
  3. Experience
  4. Educational degree
  5. Previous organization


For each job you are creating, you can add specific weightage to these parameters. Depending on the information the candidate provides when they apply, the system calculates the profile score for each of the parameters and then also calculates an aggregate score for the candidate depending on the weightage you assign.


How does profile scores help?

Candidate profile scores gives you a quick insight into a candidate's profile. By configuring the job details correctly, the system will be able to give you quite an accurate score. This allows you to quickly shortlist candidates and prioritize your candidates as well.  Here are some of the benefits of candidate profile scories. 


Reduces time and effort

Perusing and shortlisting hundreds of resumes takes a lot of valuable time which you would rather spent engaging with candidates and closing your hiring requirements. Candidate profile scores gives you a quick shortlist of candidates that you can prioritise.  You also tackle that feeling of overwhelm that you get staring at a virtual stack of resumes. 


Objective evaluations

There's enough subjectivity in hiring, and candidate scoring is one way to bring in some objective evaluations. Recruiters are prone to known or unknown biases which means that deserving candidates may sometimes be not considered. Profile scores establishes an objective parameter which reduces the bias in the overall process and gives you a numerical evaluation of candidates



Enabling candidate profile scores

Let's now see how you can enable candidate profile scores for any job you are posting. To configure profile scores, go to any job that you are creating or is currently active. In the Profile Scores tab, click on Configure to enable candidate profile scores.  



On the Configure Candidate Score window, you can add the various parameters for Job Profile, Skills, Education, Experience and Previous company details. Adding values for each of these parameters will help the system score the candidates for these parameters. Say you prefer candidates from a set or organizations lile Google, Apple and Microsoft. Adding these company names will give candidates who have experience working with these organizations a higher score. 


To edit the values of any section, click on the edit icon against that parameter. To delete a value, select the theee dots icon and then select Delete Value from the dropdown. 


 


Assigning weightages to parameters

The final candidate score is a composite based on the scores of the various parametes and the weightages that has been assigned to them. You can use the sliders to set the weightage for each parameter.

If you do not add values to a parameter, there will be no weightage attached to it.


Once you have assigned the relevant weightages, click on Apply to enable candidate scoring. 



Once you have done this, any new candidate added will have profile scores automatically calculated based on the parameters and the weightages assigned. 


Hover over these scores to get a detailed view that shows the scores against each parameter as well as the cumulative score.
