Why is demographic information important?

Demographic information is important for a lot of different reasons. Here are some top ones why organizations have always relied on demographic information.

  • Gives you a better understanding regarding the pulse of the workforce and helps tailor policies and systems to keep them motivated and engaged

  • Understand and improve diversity in the organization. Diversity encourages different view points that help the organization make better and more inclusive decisions.

  • Getting an idea of the distribution of employees based on their tenure also helps you understand how you are doing with respect to your engagement and retention policies as well as in striking a good balance between experience and fresh ideas.

It is important to track these numbers for many reasons other than the ones listed above. Let us now dive in and see how you can view demographic information regarding your workforce.

Some of the other graphs on the screen relate to the age of the employees and their tenure in the organization. You can view this information in the graphs titled Age of Employees (in Years) and Years in Organization.
