Why is the monthly Salary field in the Payslip not rounded off even though we have selected "Round off the Monthly Net pay of the employees to the nearest Digit?"

To ensure simplicity in payment calculations, most organizations prefer whole numbers for employee salaries, avoiding decimals. To cater to this, we've introduced a new option: "Round off the Monthly Net pay of the employees to the nearest Digit." This feature specifically rounds off the net pay in the pay register and payslip sections. However, it's important to note that the Monthly salary field within the Payslip will remain CTC/12, retaining its exact value without rounding.

In terms of maintaining accuracy and consistency, the monthly salary within the salary breakup on the pay timeline and payslip won't undergo rounding. Rounding here could potentially cause disparities where the total monthly salary might exceed the promised CTC due to cumulative rounding effects. Therefore, the displayed monthly salary consistently remains as CTC/12, upholding precise correspondence with the promised values.

Hope it is now clear why the Monthly Salary amount in the payslip is not rounded off even though you have enabled the round-off settings. Need more help? You can refer to the other articles available or Contact us!
