Setting up project health tracking

What does "project health" mean?

Project health refers to the overall condition and progress of a project, measuring its performance, goal achievement, and adherence to timelines. It is valuable for project managers and stakeholders as it provides insights into the project's status, potential risks, and areas needing attention.

How does it function?

Keka PSA employs a customizable set of parameters and status questions that can be updated by the project manager to evaluate the project's overall condition and progress.

For instance, a parameter could be the project's "Budget" with the project manager updating its status as "At risk" or "Good" as needed.

Similarly, you can establish a status question regarding the project's health, such as "What is the bottleneck?", with periodic updates to its corresponding answer.

By utilizing these parameters and questions, you can proactively monitor issues, make informed decisions, and enhance the project's likelihood of success.

How to set up project health parameters and status questions?

To set up the required project health parameters and status questions, go to the Project (1) section of the Keka portal, then navigate to Policies & Settings (2) and open the Project Health (3) tab.

Adding Project Health Parameters & Status Questions

Under Project Health Parameters, simply click on +Add Health Parameter

Now the Add Project Health Parameter window will appear where you have to give the name of the Health Parameter and the Code for this parameter will be set accordingly by the system itself. You can also add a description of this parameter by clicking on + Add Description. Once you have filled in the required fields, just click on Add.

Similarly, you can add Status Questions by clicking on +Add question.

Now the field to add the question will appear where type in the status question and then just click on the 'tick icon' under Action to save it.

Once you have added all the required parameters and status questions, you can click on Preview to see how these will appear to project managers when they go to update these for any project.
