A probation period is a defined time as per the company’s policy under which an employee is not yet considered a permanent employee and is exempt from certain contractual items. An employee under a probation period might not receive paid leave and other benefits of a permanent employee.
Let us take a look at the path from where we can restrict an employee from applying for leaves during probation -
Go to the Time Attend (1) section, and click on Leave (2), then you will be directed to Leave Plans (3).
Now, select the Leave Plan (1) (if there are multiple) and select the leave type under which you want to restrict employees on Probation from applying for leave then click on the three dots beside the name of the leave type, and click on settings (2).
Visit the 2nd point, Applying Leave & Approvals (1) by clicking on Save and continue for the 1st point and scroll further down and click on Additional Settings (2).
Check the checkbox beside "Employee cannot apply leave for more than ___ days during their probation period." (1).
Once you check the option "Employee cannot apply leave for more than ___ days during their probation period." give the value as Zero(0) and click on save and continue (2), and then click on Save & Finish on the next page.
If you want the employee to apply the certain no of days of leave in probation please give the no of days values in the blank "Employee cannot apply leave for more than ___ days during their probation period". So that employee will be able to apply the leave in probation for those no of days which was given in the blank.
We hope that you now have a better understanding of how to restrict an employee in probation from applying for leave on Keka.
