What is Asset Assignment?
Asset assignment refers to the process of allocating assets to employees within your organization. This helps keep track of who is responsible for specific assets and enables efficient maintenance, repair, and replacement procedures.

How to Assign Assets
In Keka, there are two ways to assign assets to employees: from the Asset List or from the Employee Profile. Let's explore both methods in detail.
From the Asset List
Navigate to Org and select the Assets tab. Select the Asset List tab on this page.
Select the Asset Category and Asset Type from the available asset categories on the left side choose the appropriate category and type of asset under the asset category you wish to assign.
You can view the following details of the asset type:
1. Asset name
2. Asset ID
3. Location
4. Condition
5. Status
6. Acknowledgement Status
7. Assigned to
8. Warranty expiry status
9. Warranty expires on
Locate the desired asset and click on the three dots (...) under the Actions column. From the options provided, select Assign Asset.
A pop-up will appear, allowing you to select the employee to whom you want to assign the asset. Use the Assign Asset To dropdown to choose the desired employee.
Set the Assignment Date, update the Asset Condition if necessary, and choose whether to Request Acknowledgment from the employee.
Click the Assign button to complete the asset assignment process. The asset will now be assigned to the selected employee.
From the Employee Profile
Use the search bar or employee directory to find the profile of the employee to whom you want to assign an asset.
Within the employee profile, navigate to the Assets tab, and under Assigned Assets click on the Assign Assets button
Select the appropriate asset category and type from the available options.
You can view the following details of the asset type:
1. Asset name
2. Asset ID
3. Asset Category
4. Asset Type
5. Location
6. Asset Condition
Set the Assignment Date, update the Asset Condition if necessary, and choose whether to request acknowledgment from the employee. The Assign Asset To field would be pre-filled with the employee's name
Click the Assign button to assign the asset to the employee. The asset will now be allocated to the selected employee.

- Assign assets to the appropriate employees.
- Ensure employees understand their accountability for the care and use of the assets assigned to them.
- Request acknowledgment from employees to confirm their awareness of their responsibility for the assigned asset.
