Managing billing classifications

Modified on Mon, 21 Aug, 2023 at 5:43 PM

Billing classifications allow you to categorize tasks that you are adding in a project. Some of the tasks will be billable while others maybe non-billable. It is also possible that there are some other classifications you may need which could be considered separately, like some adhoc tasks. These tasks maybe billed differently.

In these cases, billing classifications help you clearly demarcate tasks and consider them appropriately for billing and other processes.

Let us see how you can add and manage billing classifications and how to use these classifications.

To view the billing classifications, go to Project (1) from the left navigation pane and go to the Policies & Settings tab (2). Here, navigate to the Billing Classifications tab (3).

You can see the various billing classifications added to your Keka PSA portal here. You can add a new billing classification by clicking +Add Billing Classification (4).

You can only add non-billable billing classifications.

On the Add Non-Billable Classification screen, enter a name for the billing classification. You can also add a description if required. Click Add after entering the details to save the new billing classification.

You can now begin using these billing classifications in various projects you are configuring.

You can also edit the name and description of a billing classification using the Edit icon. Click on the delete icon to delete a billing classification.

You cannot delete a billing classification if any of the resources have used the classification while submitting timesheets. Remove this assignment before you delete the billing classification.
