Why is the location not been captured if an employee is doing Web clock-In?

Modified on Tue, 6 Feb at 3:14 PM

To capture an employee's attendance you can configure Web Clock-in, Remote Clock-in or Biometric under Attendance Capture Scheme. Employers can choose which capture type they want to assign employees based on the employee's Job requirement.

Web clock-in can be done from a Browser only. When you web clock in, the browser prompts you to allow location access however the clock-in will be captured even if deny the access as Location is not mandatory for Web clock-in. So if an employee is doing a web clock-in and has denied the location request on the browser then the location of the employee will not be captured.

In case you would like to capture the employee's location when they are working remotely (WFH/OD), you can enable Remove Clock-in. Location access is mandatory for Remove Clock-in and will not record a punch unless the location access is granted. Also Remove Clock-in can be done from both a web browser and the Keka Mobile app. Using the Mobile app to remote clock in will give you more accurate location details of the employee.

Hope now it is clear on why location details may not be captured when an employee is doing a Web Clock-in. Need more help? You can refer to the other articles available or Contact us!
