The first contact that your new employees have with your organization is critical in helping them succeeed.  There are documents to collect, onboarding conversations to be held and other steps that involve meeting their new team and getting an overview of the organization and how the different teams work. 



Your Keka HR portal comes with robust employee onboarding features that allow you to configure your onboarding process as you wish. You can set up your onboarding tasks, assign it to the various stakeholders and ensure that these tasks get done on time to assure a smooth onboarding process for your new employees. 


How employee onboarding works on Keka HR?

Employee onboarding is based on tasks that you define to be a part of the onboarding process as well as creating specific onboarding groups. Here are the various steps to creating an onboarding flow and using this to onboard new employees. 


  • Create onboarding tasks and task lists- Here, you will be creating various task lists consisting of onboarding tasks that can be assigned to any group of new employees. You can create as many task lists you want. This enables you to run onboarding for various groups of employees depending on which location or department they are joining and customizing the onboarding tasks to that.

  • Create onboarding groups - Onboarding groups are essentially distinct onboarding processes that various groups of employees within the organization follow. Onboarding groups allow you to set various stages to onboarding. These stages can be defined based on the joining date of the employees and tasks will get triggered automatically and assigned to the stakeholders based on how the stages in the onboarding groups are assigned.

  • Initiatie and track onboarding-You can select the various employees who are in the organization and initiate onboarding process for these employees. You can select an onboarding group and also assign task lists at the time of initiating onboarding. You can also keep track of the onboarding process and see where each employee is in the process.
