What is an IP address?

Is IP whitelisting similar to IP blacklisting?
IP whitelisting is a proactive approach where a list of trusted IP networks are configured using which a network, system, or application can be accessed. that exactly contrasts with IP blacklisting, which blocks known malicious addresses.
