How to add Tasks to a Project?

Modified on Wed, 24 May, 2023 at 3:36 PM

In a project, a task represents a single unit of work, serving as a step towards completing the project. Each task has a specific deadline and is designed to contribute to work-related objectives. In Keka, you have the ability to add multiple tasks to a project, enabling efficient and timely project completion.

To add a task to a project, go to Project (1) and select Projects (2). You will be redirected to Project List and under Active Projects you can see all the active projects in Keka. Click on the Project Name (3) in which you want to add the Task.

Once you select the required project, the project details page will open where you have to select Tasks (4) and click on Add Task (5).

In the Create Task window, enter the Task Name, Stage, Phase if required, Estimated Hours, Billing Type and Duration. You can also assign employees in case the Project has a setting where only assignees can log Timesheet for the tasks. Once you have entered the required information, click on Save (6) to add the task to the Project.

You can also use the Add option available beside existing tasks to add a new task within the same phase.

In case you have Task templates available, you can use the Import Task template available in the drop down beside Add Task.

Once you click on Import from Template option, you will see the available task templates. Select the pre-configured template that you want from the ones available under Select Template and then check the boxes for the Tasks (7) that you would like to add. Once all the tasks are added, you can click Next (8).

Once you move to the Preview Template tab, you can find the preview of the tasks selected. Here, select the Duration (9) and the Teammates (10) (If required) and then click Save (11).

We hope that the process to add tasks to Existing Projects is now clear. In case you have nay further queries, don't hesitate in reaching out to us, we are always happy to help.
